The Flying Sun offers 300,000 lumens of illumination from up high — akin to the brightness of three large stadium lights.
Freefly Systems based in Washington claims that the device can light up an area of 137,000 square feet with one foot-candle, which is a measure of how much light reaches a particular surface.
Intended for use by a single operator, the American company claims it's ideal for tasks related to security, road work, construction, and emergency responses.
The Flying Sun can operate freely or be connected to a tether system along with an electric vehicle for nearly silent and continuous operation.
The drone can now be reserved in advance, with the top-tier Flying Sun 1000 model costing approximately £46,000.
