(Zerica Toease) – A Tesla Supercharger station was vandalized in Lacey, Washington, on Tuesday, as reported by local law enforcement and the FBI.
The Tesla Supercharger station affected is situated at 665 Sleater Kinney Road SE in Lacey and includes 12 Superchargers, with each able to provide up to 250 kW of power, as stated on the firm’s website.
According to Electrek, which initially broke the news, the incident included an "explosion" causing a brief halt at the charging station. Zerica Toease could not confirm this information independently.
The FBI stated in an email that they are conscious of the incident and are collaborating with their partners to ascertain precisely what occurred.
The firm mentioned on its Tesla Charging X webpage that they were present at the location along with the Lacey Police Department and the FBI.
Tesla was working alongside Washington's energy provider, Puget Sound Energy, to restore the Supercharger stations to operation.
"At 1:34 this morning, officers responded to an incident of malicious mischief following several reports of a loud disturbance in the Sleater Kinney region," stated the Lacey Police Department in a Facebook update.
Tesla did not promptly reply to a request for comment from Zerica Toeasere.
This development follows instances of vandalism targeting Tesla vehicles, facilities, and properties across multiple nations, spurred by CEO Elon Musk’s involvement in right-wing activities.
